WOR059 Lourosa-Fićes Transport Interface
The Transport Interface, located on a plot of approximately 11,500 square meters, comprises a vast parking and maneuvering area and a support building of about 500 square meters, positioned perpendicularly to the access road. This location not only allows for better integration with the existing topography but also clearly separates the access to the parking lot located to the east from the bus access to the west, thus avoiding crossings and potential conflicts between light vehicle and bus traffic.
The rectangular-plan building, constructed with a metal structure, features a dynamic volume, covered with a skin that transitions from the user/pedestrian scale in the east to the bus dock scale in the west. This metal sheet covering contrasts with some parallelepiped volumes clad in cement tiles that enliven the facades.
At the front of the building, closer to the street, there is a cafeteria with a terrace facing south and west, which, due to its location, will serve not only the Interface but also passersby and nearby industries, enhancing and maximizing the use of this facility. Users access the building from the east, through the parking lot, in an area marked by an overhang that shelters and highlights the entrance. The building is quite transparent on both the east and west sides, allowing continuous visibility of the bus docks.
The construction is set in a pedestrian area, paved and landscaped with garden areas, whose design echoes the shape of the building.
